History
Established by New Zealand businessman and motorsport enthusiast Tony Quinn, Highlands Motorsport Park opened its gates in April 2013 after an intensive construction period. The circuit was designed by world-renowned track architects to meet FIA Grade 2 standards, capable of hosting all international racing categories except Formula 1.
Since its inception, Highlands has hosted numerous prestigious events, including rounds of the Australian GT Championship, the New Zealand Endurance Championship, and the iconic Highlands 501 endurance race. The facility has played a crucial role in revitalizing motorsport in New Zealand's South Island while contributing significantly to the local economy and tourism sector.
