Rudskogen Motorsenter stands as Norway's largest and most versatile racing facility, located near Rakkestad in Østfold county, approximately 70km southeast of Oslo. This challenging circuit offers a perfect blend of technical sections and high-speed straights that test drivers of all skill levels. Set against the picturesque Norwegian countryside, Rudskogen hosts numerous motorsport events throughout the year, including national championships, track days, and corporate driving experiences.

Technical Specifications and Track Features

The modern Rudskogen circuit stretches 3,254 meters in its full configuration, featuring 11 corners with significant elevation changes of up to 40 meters throughout the lap. The track width ranges from 10 to 12 meters, providing ample space for overtaking maneuvers. Its longest straight extends approximately 650 meters, allowing vehicles to reach impressive speeds before demanding heavy braking for the subsequent technical sections.

Notable features include the challenging downhill sequence into "Kleiva" corner, the technical and elevation-changing mid-section, and the thrilling final carousel that leads back onto the main straight. The track's varied nature demands precision driving, rewarding those who master its unique rhythm. Multiple track configurations are available, making it suitable for everything from high-performance track days to driver training programs.

Facilities and Specialized Areas

Rudskogen boasts comprehensive facilities to support a wide range of motorsport activities. History

Rudskogen has a rich history dating back to its original opening in 1990 as a shorter, more basic circuit. The facility underwent a complete transformation between 2006 and 2012, when it was extensively redesigned by renowned Formula 1 circuit designer Hermann Tilke. This major renovation extended the track length and introduced the significant elevation changes that characterize the modern circuit.

Since its redevelopment, Rudskogen has established itself as the premier motorsport facility in Norway, hosting everything from national racing championships and Gatebil festivals to corporate events and international competitions. The circuit continues to evolve with ongoing improvements to its facilities and infrastructure, cementing its position as the heart of Norwegian motorsport culture.
