SpeedSportz Racing Park lap times
Timed from GPS on real track days, not typed in. Compare within one layout and one vehicle class, because a motorcycle lap and a car lap are not the same thing.

About SpeedSportz Racing Park
Overview
SpeedSportz Racing Park is an outdoor karting complex in New Caney, Texas, five minutes north of Kingwood off State Highway 242 and US 59/I-69, north of Houston. It was created by its owner Alan Rudolph, a former kart racer who competed across the United States and spent his last three seasons racing in Spain and Portugal, and it sits within the Grand Texas entertainment district. The 27 acre site has two asphalt tracks: a rental track for arrive and drive racing and a 0.8 mile performance circuit used by kart owners, the racing school and national events.
Technical Specifications and Track Features
The performance track runs to 0.8 miles with 15 numbered turns. Its diagonal start straight carries a painted grid and a chequered line and leads into a sequence of linked bends before a long straight along the southern tree line that ends in a tight hairpin. The infield returns through a series of short straights and hairpins stacked side by side, which gives the lap many braking points in a compact space. The rental track lies north of the clubhouse and is shorter, with fewer tight turns, which suits less experienced drivers.
Rental karts reach about 45 mph and are open to drivers at least 14 years old and 60 inches tall, in ten minute sessions without reservations; younger children ride in two seat karts driven by a member of the track crew. The Alan Rudolph Racing Academy puts drivers aged 14 and up in 125cc Rotax TAG karts capable of about 70 mph on the performance track, with Kid Karts for ages 5 to 8 and Cadet karts for ages 8 to 13. Members practise without limit on the performance track whenever it is open, while non members pay a day fee.
Facilities and Specialized Areas
The clubhouse has meeting rooms with high speed internet and projection screens, catering and a lounge for groups, and the venue stages formats such as a Karting Grand Prix with heats and a main event, or team endurance relays. A full service kart shop sells karts, parts, fuel and tyres, services all brands and offers kart storage, and the academy also runs a race team with coaching and data review. Regular competition includes a monthly rental league with weight classes, a one hour Iron Man endurance race every other month for up to twenty drivers with at least three pit stops, and the Greater Houston Race Series, which shares its season between SpeedSportz and a second Houston area track with classes from Kid Kart to shifter karts. The annual Reindeer Run is a four hour endurance race for Briggs 206 karts with a Le Mans start.
History
SpeedSportz held a soft opening in late December 2016 at Highway 242, followed by a grand opening in February 2017, as the second part of the 632 acre Grand Texas development to open. From the start it was described as having two European style tracks, one for professional kart races and international events and the other for everyday visitors. In June 2020 the site hosted Lone Star Drift events. In 2025 it held the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour WinterNationals, the first Pro Tour event to draw more than 300 entries, and both rounds of the series' Winter Series in 2026 were scheduled there.
